Write new tutorial on academic integrity
-
Highlight positive cases as well as negative cases - ex. people who have been vindicated
-
Especially note if people were vindicated bc of effective documentation
-
Feature real world cases, not just journal retractions - ex. medicine, vaccines, machines
-
Data manipulation cases including flat out forgery
-
"Shady practices", some of which are widely found
- Fluorescence imaging color maps having hard cutoff to transparency. Threshold selection
- Highly selective field of views e.g. TEM
- Plausible but not demonstrated extrapolation
- Referencing to secondary sources instead of primary
- Showing results that happened once but are not reproducible but passing it off as such.
